Areas of Practice: Mr. Simpson is an associate and a registered patent attorney in the firm's Intellectual Property and intellectual Property Litigation Practice Groups. He focuses his practice on both IP litigation and patent preparation and prosecution as well as Trademark, Trade Secrets and copyrights.
He represents patent clients in an array of technical fields and has significant experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical arts as well as mechanical, process, software amd "green" technologies. He also counsels clients on issues in the ever-developing fields of Internet and technology law. Mr. Simpson performs searches for and drafts opinions regarding patentability, infringement/non-infringement and design-around. Mr. Simpson's prosecution experience includes domestic and international patent applications, including those filed under the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
His litigation experience includes mediation and arbitration, corporate defense, as well as bench trial and motion practice. He has taken and defended dozens of depositions, including those involving expert witnesses in diverse professional fields.
