The law on trade secrets often is misunderstood by businesses and individuals.  A trade secret is competitively valuable information protected by state law.  Proper legal advice on how to protect trade secrets or how to avoid misappropriating them can be very valuable.

GJN lawyers counsel clients in the protection of trade secrets in a variety of ways including drafting corporate policies, as well as IP, employment, non-disclosure (NDA)  and independent contractor agreements.  GJN lawyers in this area also handle a variety of trade secrets litigation for companies and individuals.

In the past several years, GJN lawyers have secured significant trade secrets victories, including involving  flight planning software for the military.  Other cases have involved customer lists, supplier contacts, pricing and other sensitive business information.

GJN has two leading experts in trade secrets law.  GJN partner Jeffrey Kass co-edited a 50 State Compendium on Trade Secrets and also authored the chapter for Missouri.  GJN partner Neal Rogers authored the chapter for Oklahoma.
